New Research: H.A.L.O.

Shortly after I started researching non-local consciousness back in 1999, I begin to realize that there was, for lack of a better term, "something else" going on. Over the years, I have been trying to get a better idea of what that might be how it might work. The big breakthrough came recently when I started looking at the data I have been collecting using an ITC system I developed. The system uses a verity of sensors to measure electron flow and translates those changes to into messages which may be evidential of psi functioning or discarnate interaction and communication. While a consistent effect has been found with the system as designed, another interesting effect has surfaced, not in the primary sensors, but in a secondary subsystem. I have since been able to isolate this effect, which I call H.A.L.O. (High Activation Low Oscillation). I just finished creating a working prototype based on the H.A.L.O. technology. So far, the output of the prototype is highly predictable, replicates, and provides a more stable and accurate output then the other sensor systems I have been working with. The current prototype will be integrated back in the ITC platform for more testing and will also be the platform for another test device designed to send messages between H.A.L.O. equipped stations. I'll let you know if it works! : )

Moose The Dog on Twitter...

At the recent Toward a Science of Consciousness conference I gave a talk about a research project we are running. Our goal is to see if a Random Event Generator (REG) can be used to produce messages which accurately reflected the activity level of a canine (our dog Moose). I have routed the output of the REG to Twitter and have added a feed to the sidebar of this blog. The REG is hosted by SyncTXT.

Half a dozen classes of scientific evidence exist for some form of survival of consciousness after bodily death; some are more persuasive than others. We will review this evidence and assess the current state of the art. One of the most intriguing classes of survival research focuses on mediums and the information they report. Research Volunteers Needed for On-line Study:
As part of the study that is being funded by The Sarah Estep Research Fund, researchers at the Windbridge Institute are currently seeking volunteers.

Participants in this study will be asked to visit a specific website and listen to a selection of different sounds (audio files). Participants will then be asked to complete an on-line survey with questions about what they heard. We expect that the process will take about an hour to complete.

EVP on the Queen Mary

During my last visit to the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA I was able to record two EVP/ITC sessions with the help of AA-EVP Certified Proxy Practitioner (CPP) Margaret Downey. As a CPP, Margaret is considered to be one of the best when it comes to capturing and interpreting EVP/ITC conversations. You can visit her website here.

The first of these sessions was recorded using EVPMaker software loaded with SpeakJet allophones (more about that in a future post). The second session was recorded using a MiniBox II.

In the photo you can see Margaret adjusting the settings on the MiniBox II while her computer is recording the session (via its internal microphone). This is the first time I have used a MiniBox and I'm very thankful to Margaret for allowing me to do work with it.

After the MiniBox session was completed, Margaret reviewed the recording and isolated some 25 conversation responses / statements that she edited into separate files.

Here is a transcript of some of the more interesting responses, along with commentary from Margaret, notes from me, and links to the audio files. Obviously, the interpretation of these audio files is highly subjective.

"Reach out, Mark."
This is said right after you ask if I'm recording the session.
[Listen]

"This is Gordon. Nice watch."
Obviously a comment on your cool watch.
(Note: I actually get a lot of comments about my watch. It is a cool green color that seems to attract some attention)
[Listen]

"Names. We were prison guards."
Amazing, considering our conversation about the prisoners.
(Note: During WWII the Queen Mary was used to transport P.O.W.s. These "passengers" were kept in the bow of the ship, which is now reported to be one of the most locations on-board)

"We are not soldiers!"
Apparently I irritated this person by saying, "Roll call" Over my voice is the name Peter, then follows the scolding.

"They didn't survive."
Interesting because I'd asked for people who'd lost their lives on the ship

What in interesting term .... must be talking about you. ;-)

Visit to the Queen Mary, Long Beach, CA

I recently had the opportunity to spend several days on-board the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA. Over the years, there have been many reports of paranormal activity on the ship. The ship is amazing and I enjoyed every moment that I was there.

While I was on the ship, I was able to go on two of the ghost tours that they offer. The first tour is lead by psychic Erika Frost. The second "tour" was actually a

paranormal investigation led by Pat from Beyond Investigation Magazine. While there was a good deal of overlap in the locations that the tours covered, I would recommend both of them.

The second image shows the pool area which is only accessible by taking one of the tours. I believe that Ericka can been seen in the lower left of the photo. This area is said to be one of the most haunted locations on the ship with people reporting hearing the voice of a little girl. I have to say that this pool area became my favorite spot on the ship and during Pat's investigation, I was actually able to spend some time alone in this room (the rest of the people on the tour were examining the dressing rooms at the back of the pool, effectively leaving me alone to sit quietly and take in the "vibe" of the place). Although I did feel that this site might be a paranormal "hot spot" I did not encounter any activity while I was there. (NOTE: The "orbs" in the photo are most likely the result of dust or light reflections caused by the camera flash)

Another area of the ship that I was interested in seeing was the infamous "Door 13." The story is that a sailor was trapped and killed when this automatic, water tight door closed on him. Both of the tours gave us access to this area and I was able to take some EMF readings and photographs. Nothing unusual was found.

Although I was on-board the Queen Mary for a total of six days, I did not encounter any activity that would be considered to be paranormal, however, some of the mediums I was meeting with on the ship did feel a strong sense of "place memory."

In addition, I was able to run a number of EVP recording sessions using both "traditional" recording methods and using one of the new Ghost Boxes. These sessions produced some interesting results, but I'll write about these in a future post.

Tony Cornell dedicates an entire chapter of his book Investigating the Paranormal to his 10 day investigation of the ship.

I just watched The Queen Mary - A Floating Phenomenon on DVD. This DVD does an excellent job at providing important background information on many of the allegedly hunted locations on the ship. I actually wished I had watched it before going on board.

New site up and other projects

I'm excited to have the new site (www.FindingGhosts.com) up and running. So far feedback has been both positive and constructive.

On Sunday I was able to give an introduction to C.O.R.E. lecture to new members of my field research team, Tucson Paranormal. The new group members seem exceptionally talented and highly motivated. I'm every excited to have them on board. The next steps in their training will include passing the human subjects protections test and also a test on professional ethics.

Things at Windbridge are also very busy. We are continuing our work on our EVP study and are looking forward to presenting preliminary results at the upcoming AA-EVP conference.

I'm also excited about a couple of new projects I'm doing at L.A.C.H. One, dealing with energy healing was just approved by the IRB, the other is a pilot study dealing with homeopathy (this isn't part of my normal research, but I had a chance to help another PI with this project so I volunteered some of my own time.)

I'll be heading back to the Queen Ann in long beach in December, but more on that trip later.
